Jump rope can be a lot of fun but sometimes the person may not have a jump rope. If that is the case the person can pretend to have a jump rope. You can also have an adult cut a rope.
Steps to sizing your jump rope
-
Stand on the middle of rope
-
Hold the edges up high
-
Edges of the rope should reach armpit
-
If the rope is to long, you can tie a knot to shorten length
Don't forget the critical elements, great form is key.
-
Face the target in preparation for the throwing action
-
Arm back in preparation for action
-
Step with opposition as throwing arm moves forward
-
Release of ball as low as you can near ground level
-
Follow through to target
-
Only practice these moves if:
-
Your family gives you permission and works with you.
-
You have a soft and safe place to try these rolls.
-
You feel confident and unafraid to try.
-
The log roll, egg roll, shoulder and teddy bear roll hopefully will be fun for you. You do not have to try a full forward roll or back roll if you are worried about hurting yourself.
-
Let’s put safety first--always tuck that head in and down. No pressure should be on your neck.
